History and Beliefs

Our Story

Storehouse Church opened its doors on September 23, 2001. The Storehouse ministry team was sent from Light & Life Christian Fellowship in California.

Light & Life was a fast growing church that had a mission to plant more churches. During JR's time at Light & Life his calling to be a church planter was confirmed. After finishing his masters of divinity degree, Light and Life sent JR and his wife and a team of 5 others to Plymouth Meeting to start Storehouse Church.

Time and time again, God opened the doors for Storehouse to meet and grow. We've seen many lives changed and look forward to see what the future holds.

We are part of a family of churches called the Free Methodist Church. Without their support this venture would not be possible. To learn more about the Free Methodist Church visit: www.freemethodistchurch.org.

Our Beliefs

Storehouse Church aggressively reaches out to people who are far from God. Rather than run from culture, we have chosen to harness it to connect with people and show them God's timeless truths. Although our approach is anything but traditional, we believe in and maintain a conservative theological position.

WE BELIEVE in one God, who is eternal, all-powerful, and absolutely Holy; who has revealed Himself to man as existing in three distinguishable expressions of His essential being: The Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; and John 14:15-17).

WE BELIEVE that the Bible, composed of the Old and New Testaments (the accepted canon of Holy Scripture) is God’s eternal, inspired, infallible Word in its entirety; and is the supreme standard and final authority for all conduct, faith, and doctrine. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1 Corinthians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:19-21).

WE BELIEVE Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day, and personally appeared to His disciples.  (1 Corinthians 15:1-8, 17; Romans 4:25).

WE BELIEVE in the salvation of sinners by grace, through repentance and faith in the perfect and sufficient work of the cross of Calvary by which we obtain remission of sins.  (Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:12-15; Romans 5:11).

WE BELIEVE in the Spirit-filled life, a life of separation from the world and perfecting of holiness in the fear of God as an expression of Christian faith. (Ephesians 5:18; 2 Corinthians 6:14; 7:1).

WE BELIEVE in eternal life for believers: a literal heaven, where we will live and reign with Christ and eternal punishment for unbelievers: A literal hell for those who reject Christ. (John 5:24; Mark 9:43-58; 2 Thessalonians 1:9; Revelation 20:10-15).

WE BELIEVE the church is a local community of believers unified through faith in Christ. The church works together in love and unity, intent on the ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ.  (Matthew 16:18-19; Acts 2:41-47; Ephesians 1:22-23).
